Total Expenditure: £17,954

How the Charity spends its money:

Representatives from the Hospital - Ward Managers, Doctors, Nurses, and on occasion patients contact us with a request, highlighting a need that cannot be fulfilled by the Trust.

This is thoroughly investigated i.e. is the item really needed, does it meet health and safety requirements, can it be maintained, is it acceptable to staff and the trust, will it be used regularly and not stood in a corner gathering dust? Often a member of staff will attend one of our monthly meetings to explain the need to us.

Once everything has been taken into consideration, if it meets our remit and we have sufficient funds we give the go-ahead for the purchase.

The item can then be purchased through the Hospital Trusts' normal channels to ensure the correct standard, safety, etc.

How the Charity raises its money:

By holding fundraising stalls, events such as Garden Parties, Concerts, Raffles, Race Nights, etc - anything that can raise money.

We are also grateful to receive legacies, Donations in lieu of Funeral Flowers, and Birthday donations. We also have collecting boxes at various locations in the area.

The League council (committee) meets on the first Tuesday of each month (bar August and January) at Scartho Methodist Church Hall to plan our fundraising and to consider funding requests from the Hospital.
